  • WHAT IS STCW BASIC?

     STCW Basic training encompasses five elements or courses. 

    These courses arm you with an understanding in

     firefighting and use of fire fighting equipment; reacting to emergency situations and evacuation procedures; 

    sea survival ;

    safety at sea;

     first aid knowledge Security.

  • WHO NEEDS STCW BASIC TRAINING?

    Crew working on vessels over 24m

     Master (Code Vessel <200) Limited and Unlimited

    RYA Yachtmaster Commercial with STCW endorsement

    Operators, skippers and crew of commercial vessels

  • ARE THERE ANY PRE-COURSE REQUIREMENTS?

    To attend the Personal Survival Techniques refresher course you will need to complete Annex B of MSN 1865. For the Fire refresher training courses, you will need to provide a copy of your original certificate.

  • WHO NEEDS REFRESHER TRAINING?

    From 1st January 2017, anyone working at sea who is required to have STCW Basic Training or Advanced Training needs to ensure their Survival and Fire Fighting certificates are less than 5 years old.  Additionally if you have a First Aid role, your First Aid certificate should be less than 5 years old too.
